My dear readrers! I am back! What an announcement, right?
The boxes were unpacked, the furniture was moved, and the clothes and the shoes were organized. So, I am ready to review a few new bits.
Besides the fact that I was swamped, I was actually didn't buy too much.
I'm trying, T-R-Y-I-N-G, to purchase less and only stuff that I need, not that I want.
Shout out to @ellenalucky, who is here to guide and help me to stay strong when I am falling into "I really want it" rabbit hole.
Long story short. I got some hair products, but instead of buying the full package and not using it up, I am trying a smaller size to make sure the product is worth investing in the future and won't cause any further damage.
Price-wise the smaller packaging is always more expensive. Still, I can reuse it afterward for the weekends getaway, and I won't waste the product if I am not satisfied with the quality. It's a Win-Win for me.
As you can see, I got a few products.
It all started 3-4 weeks ago when I first purchased Leonor Greyl Luxury Travel Kit for very Dry and Thick Hair, and the Leave-In Detangling and Heat-Protecting milk for Dry and Thick Hair.
I was super excited to try the brand, BUT it was an epic fail. I don't know what happened if it was a pre-shampoo oil (most likely) or shampoo or the conditioner or leave-in milk, but after one-time use, I got the worst allergic reaction. My scalp got super itchy, irritated, red, patchy, flaky, covered in bumbs and even sores, and it all happened after one time use. It was screaming for help, and so was I. So I searched and found the brand Act+Acre, whose specialty is a healthy scalp.
Act+Acre Mini Essentials. Cold Pressed Hair Cleanse. The smell of this product is insane, it's natural, it's beautiful, it earthy. I didn't want to wash it off. It did help with my irritated scalp, BUT it also made my hair so tangled, that nothing helped to detangle it.
Act+Acre Mini Essentials. Cold Pressed Hair Conditioner. Like shampoo, the smell is just intoxicating, so beautiful, but didn't do much for my bleached and processed hair. Overall, it's great if you have scalp issues, but you also need to have healthy, natural hair, because otherwise, it might take you days to brush hair out.
Davines Momo Shampoo. Moisturizing Shampoo for Dry and Dehydrated hair. It has a gel texture, feels really hydrating, makes hair soft and shiny.
Davines Momo Conditioner. Moisturizing Conditioner for Dry and Dehydrated hair. Detangles and leaves hair feeling hydrated and taken care of. On the picture, I just washed my hair using Momo shampoo and conditioner and applied Oi Milk.
Davines Nounou Shampoo. Shampoo for bleached, permed or relaxed hair. It wasn't my favorite purchase. It's ok, but I expected more. Didn't nourish as much as I wished it would.
Living Proof. Perfect Hair Day. Triple Detox Shampoo. I got it as a sample from Sephora. Removes product, pollution, and hard water buildup. It was super stripping and drying for me. I think it might be perfect for someone who has either natural hair or less abused hair than mine. I wouldn't use it more often than 1-2 times a month.
Davines The Renaissance Circle Mask. Hopeless hair Extreme repair. I like this mask, have been using it for years. Perfect size to take with you on vacation. It does give your dehydrated or bleached hair the love and care it deserves.
P.S. It's been over 3 weeks since my allergic reaction, and to be quite honest, I am still in a process of healing. It got better, bumbs and sores healed, but it's still not the same. Occasionally, I get itchy and burning sensation, and I can see that my scalp is quite dry. I haven't gone to the dermatologist yet, and hopefully I won't have to, but if it doesn't get better I will go and see a doctor and write an update. For all curious beauties out there, who lik to try new products, just be careful, it might be one ingredient or just one time use that can f... up your skin or your scalp. And it takes weeks to heal.
