Eye masks, anyone?

I have a confession to make; I haven't used eye masks in a while.

When I was living in China, eye gels were a big part of my skincare/self-care. Every day I had them on, and not just under eyes, I used one between my eyebrows, a couple on the forehead, and another two were framing my mouth.

When we moved to the US, it was challenging to find those well priced Korean brands, so I used Shiseido "Benefiance WrinkleResist24 Pure Retinol Express Smoothing Eye Mask" for a while, under eyes only, because of the high price tag. First, it was twice a week, then once a week, and somehow I just stopped using them once and for all.

But days pass, and it's evident to me that this delicate area needs love and attention. So I went on a little online shopping spree and got a few brands to try out.

WANDER Beauty Baggage Claim Gold Eye Masks

111SKIN Celestial Black Diamond Eye Mask

SKYN ICELAND Hydro Cool Firming Eye Gels

I tried them all already, and this is what I think.

My favorite was 111SKIN, and of course, it was the most expensive one, which is a bit annoying.

  • It helped a lot with tiny fine lines, made undereye brighter, more hydrated, and just awakened. It felt really nice and comfortable. The main ingredients are Hyaluronic Acid, Retinol, Granactive Retinoid, and NeurobioxTM.

  • HA is great for plumping and hydrating the skin,

  • Retinol helps to regenerate skin and diminishes wrinkles.

  • Granactive Retinoid is a high performing non-prescription retinoid ester with anti-aging properties to improve fine lines and wrinkles, decreasing the effects of UV-induced skin damage.

  • NeurobioxTM visibly reduces the appearance of pores for a fresh, bright look. It is clinically proven to rejuvenate skin and deliver results comparable to glycolic acid.

Wander Beauty's Baggage Claim Gold Eye Masks. It helps to depuff and awaken the delicate eye area, smooth the wrinkles, hydrate, brighten. The gold foil technology helps to absorb the formula for a more refreshed appearance. The key ingredients are:

  • Aloe Leaf and Calendula Extracts soothe redness and inflammation

  • Camu Camu Extract helps brighten the skin and encourage a more youthful-looking appearance

  • Amino Acids help maintain skin's hydration, texture, and overall appearance

  • Peptides: help to improve the texture and tone of the skin

SKYN ICELAND Hydro Cool Firming Eye Gels. When I applied this mask, my first impression was that it's too sticky, and I was afraid that when it's time to take it off, I had to really pull my skin, which is the worst thing you can do for this delicate area. But when the time came, it was just easy to remove it without pulling.

In 10 minutes, my skin felt more firm, depuffed, and fine lines, and wrinkles were visibly reduced.

It contains Elastin, which promotes firmness.

Hexapeptide reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Ginkgo Biloba diminishes puffiness, and antioxidant Co-Q10 neutralizes free radicals for a rejuvenated appearance.

All masks worked really well for me. I will keep on using them frequently.

Eye Gels are still my personal favorite, but I can definitely see the results of using any eye mask. What is your favorite brand, and how often do you use eye masks?
