WHY WOULD COUPLES STAY TOGETHER IF " THE LOVE IS GONE?"

1. FEAR

Fear of being single, fear of starting dating again, fear of losing support.

2. GUILT

Especially if kids are involved or your partner can't take care of him/herself or when you've been together for many years.

3. SHAME

What would your parents, friends, colleagues say? To be single or worse divorced at a certain age.

4. PITY

When you are a willing horse and your partner wouldn't be able to survive without you (in your opinion)

5. LIE

When the feelings are long gone, but you lie to yourself or your partner that everything is fine.

6. ILLUSIONS.

When you convince yourself that everything is or will eventually be OK. When you are foolishly optimistic and can't admit to yourself the hard truth.

7. HABIT/LAZINESS

When everything is fine, not good, but not bad either, you so get used to each other, that can't remember how it's not to be in the relationship. When you are too lazy to make an effort, go to the gym, start dating again, get yourself "out there."

Pause for a second and ask yourself, why are you in the relationship? Is it because life together is so much better than apart, and you genuinely love and appreciate each other, or is it because of some kind of a secondary gain or habit, guilt, fear, etc.?
