As I stated in my previous post, cleansing is everything for me. I would even say it's the most vital part of my skincare.
Following Korean Beauties advice, we all have as minimum as 3 and as maximum as 15, if not more steps in our skincare routines.
While we increase the number of steps, sometimes we aren't doing a proper job with the most essential one - cleansing.
Some beauties are still using wipes or micellar water and call it "cleansing." Sorry girls, but these just won't cut it.
Taking the time to remove your makeup and thoroughly washing your face will ensure that your skin gets better day after day and wash after wash.
Just think about it. Daily, our skin has to put up with a layer of makeup, SPF, sweat, pollution, different external aggressors. And only a proper facial cleanse can remove every last trace of dirt, excess oil, particles and environmental toxins, dead skin cells.
If we don't clean our face correctly, we end up having clogged pores, breakouts, dehydration, and even premature aging.
My previous post was about the first step in double cleansing, and today I just talk about a few products that I use at the moment as the second step in my double cleanse.
I have a soft spot for gel cleansers, always had. Probably because it was my first, haha.
Currently, I am using these two.
@skinceauticals Simply Clean and @Clinique Liquid Facial Soap.
SkinCeuticals Simply Clean. It's very thick, so tiny drop goes a long way, it smells delightful, and it foams really well.
It is perfect for oily or combination skin, formulated with an amino acid surfactant system, sulfonic acid, orange oil, and citric acid. Still, it is gentle as it contains glycerin, chamomile, and aloe extracts.
It washes off every trace of makeup and excess oil, gently exfoliate uneven and rough skin.
It helps to eliminate dead skin cells to reveal smoother, softer skin; it's non-comedogenic, which is perfect for daily use; it's Paraben-free, sulfate-free, soap-free, synthetic fragrance-free, dye-free, and alcohol-free.
@Clinique Liquid Facial Soap. Mild - Dry Combination Skin (Type 2)
It's also a gel cleanser, surprise, surprise.
Very nice fragrant, foams easily, washes off makeup, oil, dirt very well. It doesn't dry out my skin, it rinses quickly, and my skin feels very refreshed and comfortable.
Just as a previous cleanser contains aloe leaf juice, the only thing that bugs me a little bit is that Sodium Laureth Sulfate comes as a second ingredient, though.
P.S. I always use my Foreo Luna 2 brush with my gel cleansers, it's a must. Cleansers come and go, but Foreo stays!
